What's in the Bag?

I took this idea from a blog I read because I thought it was neat.  Sorry if it's a little too personal for you (you don't have to read this), but I'm giving you a look into my purse. The one sacred thing many women would be caught yelling, "What are you doing?! Get out of there!" if someone came to close or heaven forbid, was already in, but not today.  Today I'm going to let you into my bag:)

Pictured above is my precious Coach purse that I so graciously received from my husband on Valentine's Day this year.  While there are many other name brands that have even higher priced purses than this, it should still be considered a crime to spend so much on a bag. My god!  I get sick sometimes thinking about how many diapers and formula this purse could have bought us!  Quickly after that I remember that every girl deserves a nice gift once in a while;)  If you look closely, you can see the clear clip that's attached to the left strap. That clip is my cat, Hermes' favorite toy, oddly enough. I learned this shortly after I bought a pack of them a year ago. The little mister (as we like to call him) goes bananas for these clips! As soon as he hears one of them he comes sprinting up the stairs to see how quickly he can "talk" me into giving it to him. I am holding onto this one for myself since he's managed to lose the other 9!

I laugh as soon as I realize the first thing I am pulling out of my purse is this raggedy wallet that I got 5+ years ago.  This was gift from my grandma for Christmas one year when these items were a "big thing" at the time.  As you can see, it is torn and I think it's a perfect time to ask for a matching Coach wallet to replace this loved, but worn piece.  On top of the wallet is a gift card to Victoria's Secret that I received a year ago in March at my bachelorette party. I was pregnant at the time and the last thing I wanted to do was go out and buy underwear that would be two sizes too big a year later:) I'm still trying to shed a few pounds, so I think I'll hold onto this a while longer before I go shopping.

I'm fighting the urge to itch my watery eyes as I type what I'm looking at. It's allergy season, and boy do I have them! Thank goodness for Loratadine because if it wasn't for this stuff I wouldn't be able to survive the day.  I also carry vitamins in my purse. David thinks it's extremely important to take these, but I tend to forget.

While it's not my usual choice of gum, I always keep gum in my purse-anyone who knows me, knows that.  I try to keep some cover up or bronzer in case I need a touch up, and lip gloss because well, who wouldn't look better with a little lip gloss?  Floss is a must have, and the goggles are for the uv rays.

The goofy yellow thing is a pen from my place of work, and the keys are a must have-must have to sign in at the gym and must have to get whereever it is that I'm going.  The little tube of toothpaste doesn't really get me anywhere if I don't have a toothbrush, so I'm going to blame that on the fact that I was just at the dentist last week, oh, and no cavitites:) haha.

Well, there it is! My personal space invaded by all of you with my permission of course:) I hope you've enjoyed going through my bag.  What's something you can't live without?

Her First Overnighter

As many of you have already heard, Syrie had her first overnight stay in the hospital at just under 7 months old.  While it's not what I was expecting Wednesday morning when I was advised to bring her in by her Doctor after finding out she had a high temp, I suppose I should just be grateful it turned out to be nothing.  I've always been one to look at things in the way that, if I'm going to go through all this hassle, there better be a good reason for it, dang it!  At least that's how I always looked at this sort of thing when it happened to me.  Now that I have someone else to worry about, I think about things a little differently, but the thought is always in the back of my mind-some things/attitudes are hard to change. Before Wednesday I really had no idea what a high temperature for a child was.  Since this fiasco, I've learned that babies can stay home with a much higher temp then my little miss endured.  All I knew was that my doctor's nurse told m...

Finished the Cleanse!

Day 9 (Monday): Beginning Day 8 I had to take the Peaches n Cream Fiber Drink again and will have to until the cleanse is over (Tuesday).   Man, I did NOT miss that stuff. It’s so disgusting to me. I almost threw it back up this morning. I know I can do it one more day, but jeez that stuff is nasty.   I’m wondering if this is something I’ll have to take for the remainder of the 24 Day Challenge. I guess I hadn’t thought or looked that far ahead, so I really don’t know. It’s no fun when you hear people cracking open a can of soda or smell someone cooking something in the microwave at work. It just makes me appreciate all the things I was allowed to have before.   I’m such a Debbie Downer through this process, but that’s because food is my life.   Some people enjoy exercising, others enjoy reading.   The thing in life that makes me happiest (outside of family and friends) is food.   I love food.   I realize though, that in order to really keep...

Blood Diamond? Try Gassy Diamond.

With all the weddings in the coming months I decided I better start tanning so that I don't look ghostly in my dresses.  Having a baby makes tanning a little more difficult, so I figured I would squeeze it in on my lunch break, and went for the first time in a long time yesterday.  I typically don't wear jewelry when I go in a tanning bed, but because of the time crunch I decided to leave my wedding ring on.  While getting toasty in the bed I looked down at my ring and under the UV lights to my surprise, the far left diamond on my ring was bright blue--not just the top, but the sides, the entire thing!  I panicked and my mind immediately raced back to February when I got my bands soldered to my engagement ring, and I went home to show David. His response to my ring was, "Your ring looks smaller.  You know, sometimes they switch out diamonds on people."  At the time I thought about it for a second, and then assured myself that that would never happen to me....
