New J-O-B

I just wanted to post a quick update regarding some Very exciting news for me and my family. I was offered a new job at Deere today. I am beyond ecstatic! I interviewed last week and got the call today. As you might recall, a year ago in August I took a Supply Mngmnt Planner position at Deere through a company TMI and had a "No compete" contract for one year. I've been looking for jobs to apply for within Deere after my anniversary on 8/22, but wasn't finding much. I reached out to a contract company that has a very high reputation of hiring employees who then get hired on through Deere thereafter, and lucky for me this opportunity arose shortly after with Volt. My new title is Suppy Mngmnt Specialist and rather than working with 8 Deere factories, I will be limited to just Waterloo. I can't express how grateful and excited I am for what lies ahead. All this college is finally starting to pay off:)

CraftsMAN

Some of you would be surprised to know while others of you already do that David is quite the crafty guy. Now that I am married and no longer live with my mom who do I go to when I need a button sewn on or help finishing a Halloween costume? Why David of course! I don't know if he's always been this way or if it started with his love of ripping out car stereo systems and revamping them, but the guy's definitely got a knack for this sort of thing, and for that I thank him. On Saturday David and I took advantage of Syrie taking a nap by....doing crafts. I found this cool door decoration that I wanted to make, courtesy of, Pinterest and since we already had all the supplies we went ahead and got to it. Here is a collection of pictures from the QT we spent together.                                       We started with a simple cut out of four square cork boards. Next we used colore...

What Have You Been Up To?

Life is pretty good right now-staying busy, that I know. This coming week will be fun because David is treating himself and I to a little vacation in Vegas. We leave on Thursday and get back Sunday afternoon. Our original intentions for this trip were to go to a UFC fight- Hendo vs Jones at Mandalay Bay, but due to a torn MCL, Henderson had to back out. This is the first time in 11 years a UFC fight has ever been cancelled, and on top of that we also booked two tickets to see a couple of our favorites Joe Rogan and Joey Diaz do some comedy, but because of the UFC being cancelled, Mandalay Bay opted to cancel the comedy show too--and that my friends, is what we call Murphy's Law:-) I'm not going to let it bring me down though. So what if we spent a bunch of money on shows we can no longer see, and so what if we probably won't get reimbursed until after we return from Vegas:) Maybe David and I will get lucky on a slot machine or something... Oh wait, that's right, you hav...

Do The Potty Dance!

One week ago our little Monkin' surprised us with something I never thought I'd consider a gift...she peed and poo'd in the potty!!!  Now to some of you this may not seem like a big deal, but as parents you wait impatiently for this day to come, and when it does it's hard to contain the excitement you feel.  I have been sitting Syrie on the potty occasionally for a while now.  On this particular night, I got home from the gym and thought, I'll do it real quick before I put her to bed.  Well I sat her down and said, "let's listen for the pee" hahaha, yes I really said that. Then out of nowhere WE HEARD THE PEE! (insert screaming excitement here).  I was so ecstatic that I grabbed my phone and started snapping pics.  I proceeded to send the picture to a few people and as I was doing that, I guess she decided to go number 2 because I lifted her off the potty and to my surprise there was a...surprise:)  I was so happy and proud I shouted as loud...

18 Months

Syrie turned 1 and ½ on Friday, and in my opinion she is more awesome everyday.   I haven’t talked about her in some time now, so I figure I’d dedicate this post to her.   Some of her favorite shows on tv right now include Sesame Street, Yo Gabba Gabba (don’t worry, I didn’t know what Yo Gabba Gabba was until I had a toddler either) and Sponge Bob Square Pants.   We DVR the first two shows every day and she usually watches an episode per night. The child loves tv. If I try getting her attention during Sesame Street , well, I might as well not because she isn’t going to respond to anything or anyone when her show is on.   When she’s in the zone, that’s just it, she’s in the zone.   She loves to sit with a big sippy cup full of milk or juice in her leather chair and soak up some Elmo or Brobee.   Syrie hasn’t been measured or weighed in a couple months, but I’d say she’s right around 30 lbs and pretty tall—always in at least the 95 percentile for height. ...

Weighing Heavy

It’s been a long time since I’ve made a post, so I’m sorry. I feel overwhelmingly busy with my day to day life, and haven’t made time to sit and write.   It’s naptime at the Oswald’s and David is at the gym. My heart is weighing heavy on one particular subject, so I thought what the hay, might as well get back to it.   My mom’s mom, my grandma Diane Kopsa recently moved into assisted living at Bickford Cottage near my mom’s work. It’s interesting how when you look back on a change you thought happened out of nowhere, you then realize it was really happening right before your eyes, slowly, but surely.   To set the scene, my grandpa Kopsa passed away in November 2006.   The last few years of his life were stressful and busy for my grandma as she was in charge of taking care of him. Bringing him to Dialysis every other day, along with any other doctor appointments he had, etc. and if anyone knew my grandparents, you knew they argued a lot. Haha, I can’t help but ...
