Is it 7:30 yet?!

Life with an 11 mont h old is exhausting.   Yes, it can be exciting, joyful, and yes, I have my proud moments too, but today it’s, well, exhausting. The people around me most often I'm sure would say, I tend to hop on the frustration train the moment Syrie starts to act out or they might say I just get down right angry, and they’re right.   I never claimed to be World’s Greatest Mom, but today I tried another approach. I stayed calm, didn’t lose my cool, and yet still she seems to be impossible to satisfy.   Maybe satisfy isn’t the right word because I’m sure that leaves some of you thinking, I spoil her and give her whatever she wants the second she tears up, but that’s not true either.   I had the television off, phone put away, and all of my attention on her.   I was trying to keep her mind off of whatever it was that made her want to whine and fuss, but nothing worked.   I tried ignoring it, but I’m learning that she doesn’t care what ap...

Finished the Cleanse!

Day 9 (Monday): Beginning Day 8 I had to take the Peaches n Cream Fiber Drink again and will have to until the cleanse is over (Tuesday).   Man, I did NOT miss that stuff. It’s so disgusting to me. I almost threw it back up this morning. I know I can do it one more day, but jeez that stuff is nasty.   I’m wondering if this is something I’ll have to take for the remainder of the 24 Day Challenge. I guess I hadn’t thought or looked that far ahead, so I really don’t know. It’s no fun when you hear people cracking open a can of soda or smell someone cooking something in the microwave at work. It just makes me appreciate all the things I was allowed to have before.   I’m such a Debbie Downer through this process, but that’s because food is my life.   Some people enjoy exercising, others enjoy reading.   The thing in life that makes me happiest (outside of family and friends) is food.   I love food.   I realize though, that in order to really keep...

Big News

If you've been following my blog you may have caught on to a comment I made in an earlier post.  Things are going to be changing in the near future because I accepted a position through TM Inc. to work at John Deere in Waterloo at the Donald Street site.  David and I, and our families are very excited.  I've always wanted a job at Deere and going through TMI is a great way to get my foot in the door.  I start on August 22, and while I'm very sad to be leaving VGM, I'm excited to start my new career.  I'll be working with suppliers that John Deere utilizes for parts.

Days 5-8

Day 5 (Thursday): Woo hoo! Half way there J I wish I could say this has been easy as pie, but then there I am again, thinking about pie. I will need to go on a no fruit diet after this cleanse because I’m so tired of fruit. I keep telling myself it’s what’s good for my body. Day 6 (Friday): I didn’t write much yesterday because I had a lot going on (more to come on that in a future post), but I did almost crack last night. I was crabby and hungry and I came home to David making a pizza.   The last thing I wanted was fish and veggies, but I sucked it up and made some tilapia- not the greatest thing in the world, so I think I’ll stick with cod- it was delicious the last two nights I made it. Today and the rest of the weekend are going to be tough. Weekends are tough anyways, what with all the opportunities to drink and eat food, bad food , late at night. Why is it that I can’t go a day without getting a headache? This is getting old. I’m crabby, so you’ll have to excuse the attitu...

Days 3 & 4

Day 3 (Tuesday): I should be ecstatic right now because today was the last day of the dreaded Peaches n Cream Fiber drink until Day 8, but instead I’m feeling a little crabby. Not sure if it’s because of the diet restrictions or if it’s totally unrelated.   I talked to Melissa, the one who got my cousin, Lindsay and I involved in this Challenge, and I’m feeling good about that because from the sounds of it, I’m doing everything right.   Turns out, there was a booklet that came in the package I received on Saturday with all of my Advocare items, BUT I threw it out with the box.   I guess I should be more careful from now on when opening things up.   9 A.M.-I just received an email from a good friend from college who just finished reading my blog and had to email me to tell me she’s on Day 8 of the cleanse J   I guess this diet is more popular than I thought.   She mentioned that after Day 3 she had a hard time sticking to the strict food regimen and was fee...

The 24 Day Challenge

Many of you that know me know I'm battling with this baby weight still.  I've got a good 10 lbs to lose  yet after gaining 45 lbs during pregnancy.  After seeing the results of both my cousin and another familiar face whom have tried Advocare's 24 Day Challenge, I decided to give it a go. I mean with results starting a short 10 days after beginning, how can I go wrong? Remember, I'm going to be in Jamaica in under 6 weeks, and the gym just wasn't giving me the results quick enough.  For those of you who don't know what the 24 Day challenge is, here's a snip-it about the product:  Your 24 Day Program Breakdown Days 1-10 Cleanse Pack      internal cleansing & increased nutrient absorption      amino acid      sugar free energy      protein to nurish muscle & support metabolism Days 11-24 Max Pack      probiotics, appetite control, omega 3's and more ...
