Blood Diamond? Try Gassy Diamond.

With all the weddings in the coming months I decided I better start tanning so that I don't look ghostly in my dresses.  Having a baby makes tanning a little more difficult, so I figured I would squeeze it in on my lunch break, and went for the first time in a long time yesterday.  I typically don't wear jewelry when I go in a tanning bed, but because of the time crunch I decided to leave my wedding ring on.  While getting toasty in the bed I looked down at my ring and under the UV lights to my surprise, the far left diamond on my ring was bright blue--not just the top, but the sides, the entire thing!  I panicked and my mind immediately raced back to February when I got my bands soldered to my engagement ring, and I went home to show David. His response to my ring was, "Your ring looks smaller.  You know, sometimes they switch out diamonds on people."  At the time I thought about it for a second, and then assured myself that that would never happen to me....

6 Months Has Come and Gone

It's hard to believe when people ask me how old my baby is I am now responding with "Six months old".  Where has the last six gone?  And another six will pass and we'll be back from Jamaica with fresh tans, celebrating her 1st birthday, yikes!  I often find myself wishing away the present, and hoping for the future-saying things like, "I can't wait until she can feed herself" or "It'll be so nice when she can crawl". While it's exciting to think about all the fun things to come, I  need to sit back and enjoy the present.  Someone once said "Children have neither a past nor a future.  Thus they enjoy the present --which seldom happens to us." I find this to be right on for myself.  Thinking back to when I was a kid. I wasn't worried about how much time had passed nor was I concerned about the future.  All I was concerned about was that day, and what I was going to fill it doing! Our little Syrie is starting to sit up all ...

A Lot Has Happened in the Last Year

Today marks David and my one year wedding anniversary. It's funny to say that because we've been together (off and on) for almost 5 and half years, so to start over at one sounds silly:) When I look back at the last year, I realize how much has happened. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again. I found out I was pregnant while we were already in the process of looking for a house to buy, and then on a whim, we decided to have a quick marriage to help with the bills and make things less complicated with having a baby. That's a big pill to swallow in such a short time. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to marry him and vice versa, but I had no idea my wedding would take place on a Monday in the Grundy County Courthouse:) I'm not complaining, I'm very greatful for everything I have and I'm know how blessed I am. I'm just saying it's not every girl's dream as a child that some day they'll get married in a courthouse, haha. I remember...
