I received some very exciting news today. Some of you already know I work for Volt, a contingent company inside John Deere.   Deere often uses Volt to hire employees on a contract. Some of you probably forgot that or just assumed I work for Deere. For the last 22 months I have been working through contracted companies like TM, Inc and Volt, and recently I began applying for positions at John Deere. I had my first John Deere interview two weeks ago, and have patiently (not) been waiting to hear the outcome.   I have had so many thoughts running through my head from the time I got the interview request on a Monday to the following day when I had the interview, and for the last 2 weeks while I have waited to hear something! Waiting. Wondering. Worrying.   Did I do a good enough job during my interview? Did I forget to mention something crucial? Did I say the wrong thing?   No.   I did the absolute best I could in the short time I had to prepare myself, and I wou...

Writing Prompt #2: Blog Name

I don't know how much explaining is really needed here, but this next writing prompt requires an explanation for my blog name, so here goes. When I first started this blog, I decided to focus on keeping my loved ones up to date on what's going on in the my world. I knew that most of the posts, intentional or not, would focus on parenting, and all that comes with having this little person who flipped my world upside down, as well as the relationships I have. "And Baby Makes 3" simply means that what was once a relationship between two people who had nothing to worry about, but themselves and each other has turned into a new journey with a third party--and she is quite the party:)  One person can completely rearrange your priorities. Putting this little person we created before ourselves and everything else. It really made things feel complete adding baby to our life together and becoming a family.

Writing Prompt #1

I stole this idea off of my friend's blog (thanks, Karah). Prompt: Current Photo, Introduce, 15 Interesting Facts Current Photo:  This photo was taken at Piramida in Waterloo. We were out for a friend's birthday. Pictured from left to right: Melissa, Jess, myself and Heather. Introduce:  I'm a 27 year old from Dike, Iowa. I reside in Waterloo with my daughter and husband. I work in Waterloo at one of the Deere facilities in Supply Management. In my spare time I enjoy your standard activities: hanging with family and friends.  I love to entertain, and I'd consider myself a foodie because I have a great deal of interest in food: I like to make it, eat it, serve it, entertain with it, and so on and so forth. I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, traveling and going to see as many shows centered around comedy as I can. 15 Interesting Facts:   I can't promise these will be interesting, so lets call this interesting or strange, and hopefully you will...

Short Hair, Don't Care

Just a quick post on a BIG change I made last month on a whim. I chopped off all of my hair. Something I've been talking and thinking about for a few years. My mom finally got the courage to do it after much persuasion. Enjoy the below before & after pics.

Endorphins!

I've been wanting to post for some time now, but have been beating myself up over not getting photos up as promised from Syrie's 2nd birthday in SEPTEMBER, so I've been avoiding the blog basically. Long story short, uploading photos hasn't cooperated with me (or maybe it's the person behind trying to upload photos that's the real problem) and I put so much work into her party, that I really wanted to share with you all! Oh well, maybe another time. On Monday I started another kickboxing class in Waterloo. I haven't worked out since the summer, and I have to say, I'm ecstatic because for the first time in my life I feel like I can join the rest of mankind by being able to say it feels awesome to work out! I'm in such a good mood after the gym, I keep thinking to myself, "Who is this person, and what have you done with Haley?!" I've never..ever been the type to say I enjoy working out, and in all honesty, I've always kind of gagged ...

New J-O-B

I just wanted to post a quick update regarding some Very exciting news for me and my family. I was offered a new job at Deere today. I am beyond ecstatic! I interviewed last week and got the call today. As you might recall, a year ago in August I took a Supply Mngmnt Planner position at Deere through a company TMI and had a "No compete" contract for one year. I've been looking for jobs to apply for within Deere after my anniversary on 8/22, but wasn't finding much. I reached out to a contract company that has a very high reputation of hiring employees who then get hired on through Deere thereafter, and lucky for me this opportunity arose shortly after with Volt. My new title is Suppy Mngmnt Specialist and rather than working with 8 Deere factories, I will be limited to just Waterloo. I can't express how grateful and excited I am for what lies ahead. All this college is finally starting to pay off:)
